Weekly Thoughts, Mistakes, and Accomplishments In Bjj

Three Thoughts from This Week
Episode 100
Episode 100 of Tapped In will hit this coming week. I’m excited to cross such a massive mile marker. Do I think I have this podcasting thing figured out? Absolutely not.
It’s a fun project that I hope helps some people along the way until I do.
Leaning On Your Third Place
This week a small group of us hung out after class at the gym discussing something that one of them is currently going through. As we talked and he opened up, I could tell is was much needed.
As men, we tend to look at our stresses as things that we need to be stoic about. In some ways it’s part of our role within our family, but please understand.. we all need outlets. Not just the physical act of training Jiu-Jitsu, lifting, or running.
But actually opening up and letting some of that out. That’s what your Third Place should be for. Don’t carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, share it with your friends.
Trust me, they want to help.
This Stupid Knot
I’ve been dealing with a knot under my right shoulder blade for some time now. The last two nights have been hell for sleep. I can’t get comfortable, so I toss and turn throughout the night even after taking a muscle relaxer. It’s gotten so bad I’m having slight numbness in my right thumb.
Not fun.
I took the weekend off from training in order to focus on it. As of this morning, it’s finally getting a little better after using the S-Cane, stretching, and my massage gun.
Wish me luck.
