Weekly Thoughts, Mistakes, and Accomplishments In Bjj

Three Thoughts from This Week
Red Dead Redemption 2
The Mrs and I recently finished the spinoff Yellowstone shows and for some odd reason, I felt like doing cowboy shit. So I reinstalled Red Dead Redemption 2. I’m out here taming while horses, robbing banks, and hogtieing wanted criminals.
Would I want to live in that time period, absolutely not. Is is fun in a show or video game.. yes.
Octopus Adventure Continued
My Octopus Guard game is developing. I’m starting to gain some minor success in getting to the position. If I get there I’m sweeping, but the issue I’m having is that most people aren’t aggressively trying to cross face me.
What I am noticing is that when I fail to get into position, I am either getting to the Kimura Trap, or switching over to the traditional underhook form Half Guard.
I’m really enjoying the cat and mouse game.
Warriors Mindset
I recently picked up Roger Gracie’s Warrior Mindset book. I’m about maybe eighty percent into the book and I’m really enjoying learning about his upbringing and his approach on Jiu-Jitsu.
